The suspension of so called to play a "constructive role" in the framework of United Nations efforts to resolve the Sahara issue, said the institute south African strategic studies (ISS).

In a recent analysis devoted to Morocco's decision to return to the AU, the institute points out that this decision is part of a new Moroccan strategy to introduce a change from within the African organization.

After 32 years of absence, Morocco is preparing return to the African organization, says ISS, adding that the Kingdom left the Organization of African Unity (OAU, predecessor of the AU), in protest against the illegal entry into its entity of self-proclaimed separatist movement Polisario.

The Institute analyzes the message of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the AU summit held in July in Kigali, Rwanda, in which the Sovereign stressed in particular that the time has come for Morocco, to find its natural place within the institutional family.

The Sovereign also clarified that "Morocco, which left the OAU never left Africa. He just left institutions, in 1984, under particular circumstances," added ISS, adding that at least 34 African countries have not recognized SADR, which has no attribute of sovereignty. "The change from within the AU forms the basis of the new Moroccan strategy," said the South African Institute.

ISS stresses in this context the importance of the motion signed in Kigali by 28 member countries of the AU, welcoming the decision by Morocco to join the African organization and calling for the suspension of SADR, which is not a State accepted in other international and regional organizations.

Based on international tests, the South African Institute emphasizes increasingly predominant position occupied by Morocco on international and continental scenes.

"Morocco is a major investor in Africa and maintains strong political and religious relations with many countries of the continent, particularly in West Africa," said the institute.
