The Council of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region has decided to allocate an amount of DH 6.5 million to finance the purchase of tablets for students to facilitate their access to “distance education”, as part of its contribution to the implementation of precautionary and preventive measures taken to reduce the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19).

In a press release, the Council indicates that these tablets will benefit all students who will take certification exams at the regional level and who are enrolled in public establishments for the 2019-2020 school year.


These digital tools will be distributed in coordination with local authorities and the Regional Education and Training Academy (AREF) of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab in the coming days, with the aim of carrying out this operation in better conditions.


This operation, which aims to help students to continue their studies at a distance and to ensure pedagogical continuity, is intended for students at the first and second year of baccalaureate, third year of college and sixth year of primary education, the statement said.


To this end, a digital platform will be created to make this program a success, as part of the implementation of the partnership agreement between the Council of the region and AREF to raise the quality of education, in particular the component relating to educational support.


According to the same source, this contribution is likely to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and mutual aid that characterizes the different components and vital forces of Moroccan society, better overcome the difficulties caused by the Covid-19 .
