Speaking before the Committee, the representative of Yemen underlined his country's support for the efforts of the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy to revive the political process to achieve a political, realistic and durable solution to this regional dispute, on the basis of consensus and in application of all the Security Council resolutions adopted since 2007.
In this regard, he welcomed the momentum created by the two round tables between Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania and the Polisario, held in December 2018 and March 2019, as well as the agreement expressed by the participating four parties to take part in a third round table, "as stipulated in Security Council resolutions 2468 and 2494".
