The Special Commission on the Development Model (CSMD) held, Saturday in Dakhla, a meeting with representatives of civil society in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, as part of the cycle of regional meetings dedicated to the presentation of the conclusions of its report on the new development model (NMD).

This meeting was an opportunity for all representatives of civil society in the region to learn and take part in the debate on the conclusions and recommendations of the general report on the new development model, which was developed through a participatory approach.


It also aims to involve and mobilize the various development actors at the regional level and encourage their effective support for efforts to implement the objectives of the NMD, which marks the beginning of a new phase of consolidation of the Kingdom's societal project.


During this meeting, the President of the CSMD, Chakib Benmoussa, reviewed the main lines of the report on the development model, including the diagnosis of assets and areas for improvement, the aspirations of citizens and the levers of acceleration of development, calling for ownership of the recommendations of this report, to ensure the successful implementation of this strategic national project.


Mr. Benmoussa has in this sense highlighted the components of the ambition 2035 to create "a prosperous Morocco, inclusive and skills.


To do this, it is important to focus on the creation of more wealth, strengthening the means of integration, developing the capabilities of citizens and the preservation of natural resources, he noted.


It is also, added Mr. Benmoussa, to make Morocco a digital country and pioneer in the field of competitiveness and green energy, noting that this ambition must be based on the integration between a strong state with a long-term strategic vision and a strong and pluralistic society, which enshrines the autonomy of individuals, liberates energies and preserves natural resources.


He also considered it important to focus on the four strategic choices of the new development model, namely a diversified and productive economy, creating jobs and wealth, a strengthened human capital and better prepared for the future, opportunities for inclusion for all and a consolidated social bond, as well as sustainable territorial spaces.


Previously, the members of the CSMD held, at the headquarters of the Wilaya of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, a meeting with the Wali of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, Governor of the province of Oued Eddahab, Lamine Benomar, Governor of the province of Aousserd, Abderrahaman El Jaouhari, the President of the Council of the region, Khattat Yanja, elected officials, chambers and professional organizations, as well as heads of decentralized services, and security and military authorities.


These meetings, which took the members of the CSMD to the 12 regions of the Kingdom, are intended to explain and discuss with institutional, economic and civil society actors, as well as with citizens, the results and conclusions of the general report on the new development model.


These meetings were held in accordance with the High Royal Instructions aimed at conducting, in the 12 regions of the Kingdom, a vast operation of restitution and explanation of the conclusions of the CSMD report to citizens and different actors.
