This first initiative committee, he added, would subsequently be expanded to all regions of the African continent, stressing that the visit of this delegation aims to get in touch with the artistic and literary community of Morocco, as well as the people concerned by the absence of the Kingdom in the AU.
These intellectuals have planned to carry out, for this purpose, a mission in North Africa and other regions so that this initiative will be well understood, "said Badara Beye, stressing that the committee relies heavily on the African intelligentsia so that this problem can be resolved as soon as possible.
The initiative of African intellectuals, he said, is part of their belief that Morocco can not stay out of the AU. "The integration of Morocco is the main cause of this approach," he said.
Regarding the question of Western Sahara, Mr. Badara Beye said that the Moroccan initiative of autonomy, hailed by the African and international community, is a step forward, adding that the approach of the Committee is supported by the favourable reception met by this initiative.
