The Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs warned, at the regional seminar of the third international decade of decolonization, which took place in Quito, the capital of Ecuador from May 30 to June 1, 2012, against the maintenance of Algeria's attitude that " impedes all attempts to political solution to the Sahara", drawing attention to the "growing threat of instability in the Maghreb and Mediterranean region ".
