Morocco’s Ambassador to Geneva, Omar Hilale, called on the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR, to implement UN Security Council resolution 1979 concerning the registration of the population in Tindouf camps (south-western Algeria).

African countries renew their support to the autonomy of the Sahara under the Moroccan sovereignty before the 4th UN commission 10/4/2011
Three African countries, Senegal, Ivory coast, and Comores have renewed Monday before the 4th commission of the UN general assembly their support of the Moroccan autonomy initiative, as a basis for a lasting solution of the issue, therefore Senegal “would like to express one more time its support to the Moroccan initiative aiming at granting a substantial autonomy “to the Sahara” within the respect of the sovereignty” of Morocco asserted the Senegalese ambassador to the UN Abdou salam Diallo.
