 Morocco satisfied with latest UN resolution on Sahara, welcomes the call for census of Tindouf population  4/28/2011

 Morocco welcomed with "satisfaction" the resolution 1979, adopted unanimously Wednesday by the UN Security Council extending for one year the MINURSO mandate, and welcomed the call of the Executive Body for a population census in Tindouf, Algeria.
 

  


 UNSC reaffirms preeminence of autonomy proposal, calls on Algeria to allow population census in Tindouf  4/28/2011

 The United Nations Security Council extended, on Wednesday, for another year the mandate of the MINURSO and urged, for the first time, Algeria to allow the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) conduct a population census in the Tindouf camps (Algeria's south-west).
 

  


 Macedonia and Comoros support Moroccan autonomy plan in the Sahara   4/26/2011

 While announcements of the withdrawal of recognition of the so-called Polisario Republic by some countries continue, statements supporting autonomy project in the Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty increase. The most recent ones, and surely not the last, are those of Macedonia and the Comoros Islands.
 

  


  U.S. rights NGOs say situation in Tindouf camps 'precarious' call on SC to take into account autonomy proposal  4/22/2011

 A group of U.S. human rights NGOs sent a letter to the United Nations Secretary-General Ban ki-moon on the "precarious" living conditions in the Tindouf camps (Algeria's south-west) and the "vulnerable" situation of the population held against their will in these camps.
 

  


 US congressmen reaffirm their support for autonomy in the Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty  4/20/2011

A group of congressmen have called in a letter addressed to the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for more support for autonomy in the Sahara, proposed by Morocco and for legitimate rights of the people still held hostage by Polisario in Tindouf camps.
