 Mr. Loulichki called on Algeria to allow UNHCR to identify populations sequestered in Tindouf   10/7/2008

The ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Mission of the Kingdom of Morocco with the United Nations Office at Geneva, Mr. Mohamed Loulichki, reiterated Monday in Geneva, the appeal of Morocco to the Algerian authorities to "abandon their obstruction policy” and allow UNHCR to have direct access to populations sequestered in Tindouf camps to identify their number and their real needs, including the deployment of the new registration system "global standard progress", whose effectiveness has been proven in other situations.  Sahrawi families exchange new HCR-led family visit  9/30/2008

 A new HCR-led family visit exchange was held on Sunday between family members living in the Province of Laâyoune and their relatives in the Tindouf camps, south-western Algeria. Thirty-six people belonging to five families from Laâyoune flew to the Tindouf camps in the morning, while thirty-five others members of seven families traveled from the camps to Laâyoune, in the 27th visit exchange since the start of 2008, a press release of the Moroccan Office of Coordination with the UN mission in the Sahara (MINURSO) said.

 Rice advocates 'some aspect of autonomy' to settle Sahara issue  9/29/2008

 US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has advocated "some aspect of autonomy" to settle the Sahara issue, insisting that it is time to solve this question.   "it's time for this issue to be resolved," insisted Rice in an interview Friday with the satellite TV channel  Al Arabiya, pointing out that "there's going to have to be some aspect of autonomy."
