 The Kingdom territorial unity, a constant for the World Mediation Forum   5/27/2008

The preservation of Morocco’s territorial unity "is one of our main constants," said the secretary general of the World Mediation Forum, Mr. Marwane El Faouri. In a statement to the National Radio aired Monday at the evening journal, during the first training session in Rabat of staff mediators, M. El Faouri said that "preserving the territorial unity of Morocco is one of our main constants," calling on Polisario to show political realism and good will to solve the Sahara conflict. The President of the Colombian Conservative Party, Senator Efrain Jose Cepeda Sarabia reaffirmed its full support to the efforts carried out by Morocco with good faith to reach a political, consensual and final settlement to the Sahara issue, said Moroccan diplomatic sources in Bogota.

  


 Agitation around Polisario inappropriate in front of Moroccan autonomy proposal, Belgian Senator   5/23/2008

Belgian senator, State Minister and vice-president of the Socialist Party, Philippe Moureaux deemed "inappropriate" agitation around the Algeria-backed Polisario separatists, while Morocco is offering autonomy to its Southern Provinces, The Sahara. "If he understands that there is a nuance in the socialist party on the (Sahara) issue, M. Philippe Moureaux deems inappropriate the mobilization around the Polisario, while Morocco is trying to open talks by offering internal autonomy for the southern region of the Sahara," a press release of the Brussels Federation of the SP said.

  


 President of the National Assembly of Gabon: resolution 1813 "is largely in favour" of Morocco   5/22/2008

Resolution 1813, adopted recently by the UN Security Council on the Sahara issue, "is largely in favour" of Morocco, said Wednesday the president of the National Assembly (First Parliament House) of Gabon, Mr. Guy Nzouba Ndama. "Moroccan patience and flexibility have finally given their results under resolution 1813 which is largely in favour of Morocco," said Nzouba Ndama in an interview with Morocco's ambassador to Libreville, M. Ali Bojji. He praised the "wisdom" which has always guided the approach of Morocco to resolve the Sahara issue, expressing confidence that this path "will eventually prevail."
