 Polisario and Algeria have to show” proof” of realism says the mayor of Las Palmas  12/5/2008

The mayor of Las Palmas (canary islands) Mr Jeronimo Saavedra Acevedo , underlined on Thursday in Rabat , that the Polisario and Algeria have to show a proof of “realism» in relation with the Sahara issue, taking into consideration the autonomy as “ an appropriate solution” for the settlement of this issue. In a statement to “MAP” at the end of the signature’s ceremony c concerning a protocol of friendship and cooperation between both   Rabat and las Palmas’s town halls, Mr saavedra Acevedo called “the Polisario leadership to show proof of realism”

 Morocco's autonomy proposal stems from concern to keep the family united, Guinean Minister  12/2/2008

Guinean Foreign Minister, Amadou Lamarana Bah, said, here Monday, that Morocco's autonomy proposal to solve the Sahara issue stems from its concern to keep the family united, stressing the need "to avoid any disintegration" in the region. "Guinea has a clear cut position... We believe that the Sahara belongs and is part of the Kingdom of Morocco," Lamarana Bah said in a statement to the press, following a meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister, Taib Fassi Fihri.

  


 The Comoros Islands reiterates support for Morocco's territorial integrity  12/1/2008

   During two separate meetings with Moroccan Premier, Abbas El Fassi in Qatar, on the sidelines of the Doha International Conference on Financing for Development, the two countries' presidents hailed Morocco's Sahara initiative to grant substantial autonomy to its southern provinces. The President of the Comoros Islands, Ahmed Abdellah Mohamed Sambi said the Sahara has been and will always be Moroccan.
