Positive momentum triggered by the autonomy proposal put forward in Amsterdam 5/19/2008
Participants at a conference on the Sahara held Friday evening in Amsterdam, have highlighted the positive momentum initiated by the Moroccan autonomy initiative and its relevance as the only solution able to reunite Sahrawi families. At this conference organized by the Faculty of Law at the University of Amsterdam, participants also welcomed the support of the international community to the Moroccan proposal, which is based on a participatory and democratic move enabling residents of the southern provinces to manage their own affairs and exercise their full rights.

The Sahara conflict, which was inherited from the Cold War, has no meaning today in the 21st century, European Parliament Member Fernando Fernandez Martin, said here Thursday.
