 Opening of CORCAS first regular session for 2008   5/2/2008

The first regular session of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS) for the year 2008, has opened Friday in Rabat. It will take place over two days.

 The resolution of the U.N Security Council on the Sahara issue constitutes a new and important step that confirms the turning set in motion last year in the evolution of talks on the Sahara, Moroccan Foreign Minister, Taieb Fassi Fihri said on Thursday.

The United Nations Security Council adopted on Wednesday a resolution calling on the parties in the 32-year-old Sahara conflict to engage in substantive negotiations, and extending, for one year, the mandate of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Sahara (MINURSO).
