Multiplying states in the Maghreb region, not the solution 9/12/2008
Analyst Khadija Mohsen-Finan and head of the research department at the French Institute for International Relations warned that "multiplying states in the (Maghreb) region is not the solution" to the Sahara issue. In a statement to Switzerland's "Radio Suisse Romande", Mrs Mohsen-Finan made it clear that the so-called SADR resulted from an act of self-proclamation, adding that it is only "recognized by local bodies," while there is no recognition of this entity at the international level.

The Kingdom’s southern provinces o will benefit from the construction of 1,770 housing units under "Al Omrane" preliminary program to enable poor families access to housing. According to the Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Spatial Planning, this program involves the construction of 1,500 housing units in urban areas and 270 units in rural areas.

FM calls for overcoming obstacles hindering Maghreban intergration 9/8/2008
Foreign Minister, Taieb Fassi Fihri, on Sunday called for the normalization of relations between Morocco and Algeria, noting that Morocco "sees its future in the Maghreb." "We aspire to overcome the obstacles and difficulties that we have had for a few years," Fassi said at a joint Press conference with visiting U.S. Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, hoping that "relations between Morocco and Algeria will be normalized and Maghreban integration will be achieved."
