Morocco on Wednesday called upon Algeria and the separatist movement "Polisario" to "obviate a fruitless and unproductive controversy" to create the most favorable conditions for the success of the negotiations on the Sahara.

EC is called to bring Algeria and Polisario to boldly work for final settlement of the Sahara issue 4/8/2008
German politician and Member of the European Parliament, Erika Mann, deplored that the Polisario separatists continue to act deceitfully vis-à-vis the positive momentum that was created by the Moroccan initiative to negotiate an autonomy status in the Sahara. In a question addressed to the European Commission on the measures it intends to take to bring the Polisario and its mentor Algeria "to resolutely embark on the current momentum" and "to refrain them from taking any actions or statements that are likely to undermine the efforts aiming to end this long-standing dispute,

This edition was devoted to the Sahara issue and the national cause latest development, in a five-axed debate. Catalonia President: Moroccan autonomy, "substantial step forward" 4/7/2008
The President of the autonomous government of Catalonia, Mr. Jose Montilla said that the Moroccan proposal to grant the Sahara a large autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty is a "substantial step forward" towards resolving the conflict. "undoubtedly, the Moroccan proposal to grant the territory an enlarged autonomy is a substantial step forward and a good starting point to resolve the conflict," said president Montilla to the MAP, on the eve of a three day visit to Morocco.
