Van Walsum should convince Algerian, Polisario leaders to give up 'blockade attitude', expert 2/12/2008
The personal Envoy of the United nations Secretary General for the Sahara, peter Van Walsum who is currently visiting the Maghreb region (Feb.6-14), should convince the Polisario leaders and their Algerian backers to give up n their "blockade attitude," Director of the Paris-based Observatory of geopolitical studies (OEG) affirmed on Monday. Mr.Peter Van Walsum should convince the other parties involved [in the Sahara issue] – Algerian and Polisario leaders- to abandon the "blockade attitude" and show wisdom to go forth in the process of negotiations," Charles Saint Prot said in an interview with MAP

Arab Parties’ Congress calls for speeding up the settlement of the Sahara issue 2/11/2008
The Arab Parties’ Congress called Saturday in Rabat, for the speeding up of the settlement of the Sahara issue, in order to serve the supreme interests of the Maghreb region peoples and protect the region against fragmentation risks and disintegration.
In their final communiqué, at the end of that session, held under the theme "Advocating for Gaza", the participants in the 45th session of the Congress stressed that Morocco was fully entitled to the recovery of its two cities Sebta and Mellilia and its occupied islands.

Morocco's sovereignty over Sahara not negotiable, political leaders tell UN envoy 2/8/2008
Moroccan political parties leaders on Thursday made it clear that Morocco's sovereignty over its Southern provinces, the Sahara, is not negotiable, stressing however the North African country's commitment to pursue peace talks with the Polisario in a bid to end the 32-year old dispute over the former Spanish colony.

The California based American Council for Moroccan POW's (ACMP) affirmed on Monday that the human rights' breaches perpetrated over thirty years in the Tindouf camps, south-western Algeria, should be at the core of negotiations, stressing that responsibility of such abuse should be clearly established.
