The Crans Montana Forum "will be held in Dakhla, Morocco," said Friday in Rabat, president of this prestigious institution, Jean-Paul Carteron, noting that attacks by opponents of the territorial integrity of Morocco are part of the "buzz". "Obviously we're in Dakhla, Morocco," said Mr. Carteron at a press conference in Rabat for the presentation of this forum and its program, welcoming the "huge" efforts made by Morocco for the development of this city, "one of the most beautiful parts of the world."

He stressed that the city of Dakhla has become a "model" and an "example" of development for Morocco and all of Africa, adding that "the Forum will focus on what is now realized in Dakhla and what will happen in the coming years. "

"It was time that this event to be held in Dakhla for people in good faith to see, and meet," he said, adding that discussions also aim to "stimulate reflection" and "create openings. "

Mr. Carteron argued that the virulent attacks he went through since the announcement of the holding of the annual meeting in Dakhla are not interesting.

"These attacks are part of the buzz and I'm not interested," he said, adding that the forum has received more than 100,000 individuals since its creation there thirty years. "These people know what I'm doing," he assured. Mr. Carelton had explained to the MAP that the purpose of the meeting was "not to interfere in reminiscences of a manifestly exceeded controversy," but to "create an opportunity for senior representatives from Africa and the rest of the world. "

"Far from the reminiscent of Cold War and, unfortunately, traditional African conflicts, the region of Oued Ed-Dahab offers indeed a model and perspectives that are reference for the resolution of conflicts in Africa" he argued.

The President of Crans Montana welcomed the "considerable" role played by Morocco in the development of South-South cooperation beneficial to all African countries, the opposite of a North / South co-operation

"By cooperating with African countries, Morocco gives them back their dignity," he explained.

He also praised the stability of Morocco and its ability to create a symbiosis between modernity and tradition "with historical, religious, cultural and social legitimacy."

In Dakhla, the Crans Montana Forum will bring together Heads of State and Government, ministers, international and regional organizations, parliamentarians, financial institutions, employers and professional organizations to address the major issues and prospects of Africa , particularly in the context of South-South cooperation.
