Morocco welcomed "courageous and responsible" position by the organizers of the Crans Montana Forum (CMF) to remain attached to the holding of the annual session of the meeting March 12 through 14 in the city of Dakhla, in spite of pressures and disruption attempts they experienced.

Speaking at the press conference after the Governing Council, which met Thursday in Rabat, the Minister of Communication, government spokesman, Mustapha El Khalfi took the opportunity to greet "the courageous and responsible position taken by the organizers of the Crans Montana Forum, who rejected all pressures and disruption operations to hold the forum in Dakhla, in southern provinces to host this important event ".

According to El Khalfi, the fact that this initiative is subject to escalation and disruption attempts, was "predictable from accustomed parties to do so." He described as "desperate" these attempts, "which did not deter the Kingdom to persevere on its path."

The choice of Morocco to hold the annual session of the Crans Montana forum "reflects the place of the Kingdom, which enjoys confidence and attractiveness in the world," said the minister, adding that the nature of the issues to be discussed at the meeting are able to strengthen the position of Morocco as an actor in the debate about the future of humanity, issues of security and stability and development in Africa and worldwide.

The Crans Montana Forum has chosen the city of Dakhla for the next annual session, an initiative it considers "a major act of peace and an opportunity for everyone to meet and talk."

"Dakhla is essentially a model for the future of Morocco and Africa and enjoys an exceptional strategic position as a hub economically", said Jean-Paul Carteron, founder president of the CMF, known for thirty years for its commitment to "build a more human and impartial world."
