According to organizers, this regional consultation meeting aims to consolidate the participatory approach, strengthen dialogue and coordination between different actors involved in the process of developing the second national UPR report, both locally regionally.
In March 2008, the Kingdom of Morocco was among the first four countries to submit its report in the first cycle of the UPR.
A second report was also presented in 2012 in the second round. In 2014, Morocco has voluntarily reported mid-term on the evolution of the implementation of the recommendations of the UPR last cycle.
During the UPR second cycle, DIDH oversaw the development of an action plan for monitoring the implementation of recommendations from the UPR mechanism and UN human rights mechanisms for human rights.
