MEP Gilles Pargneaux satisfied with the development of the EU-Morocco agricultural agreement

MEP Gilles Pargneaux welcomed the conclusions by attorney general of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) on the EU-Morocco agricultural agreement, saying that "it is time to put an end to this case which poisons our relations with an important partner like Morocco. "

"The conclusions of the attorney general are clear: the judgment of the Court of Justice must be rejected. Polisario’ s complaint is inadmissible. This is the main information you need to remember from the conclusions of Mr Melchior Wathelet.. "noted the MEP in a statement.

"The inadmissibility estimated by attorney is good news," added Mr. Pargneaux, noting that the European Union must pursue cooperation with Morocco, as "major partner".

"Security cooperation, information sharing, partnership for economic development, energy cooperation, fight against climate change, these are the themes that should be at the heart of our common project for Europe with the Kingdom of Morocco," said MEP.

The attorney general of the CJEU made public on Tuesday findings in the case concerning the appeal of the EU Council against the judgment of the trial court which concluded December 10, the cancellation of the EU-Morocco agricultural agreement.

In its conclusions, the attorney general expressed three clear recommendations that are to set aside the judgment of the EU Court of 10 December 2015 (Case T-512/12), which concluded that the partial annulment of the agricultural agreement in terms of its application in the Sahara. He believes that the Polisario annulment is inadmissible because Polisario has no quality or legitimacy to represent the economic interests of the population.

The Attorney General recommends Polisario to bear charges of trial and appeal.
