This international event, organized by Le Matin on the sidelines of the celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the throne, will see the participation of many decision-makers, diplomats, economic actors and experts from Morocco and the rest of the continent, according to a statement from the organizers.

After six successful sessions organized under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI on strategic topics such as the social state, advanced regionalization, and the place of women in Morocco's development, this year's Morocco Today Forum will address the theme: "Atlantic Africa, for an integrated, inclusive and prosperous continental region", hence the choice of Dakhla to host the event, considering that the southern provinces are called upon to play a pivotal role in this royal initiative.

The same source highlighted that this topic naturally imposed itself after the speech delivered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the nation on November 6, 2023, on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the Green March, noting that "this speech represents a new milestone in the development of the Kingdom's southern provinces and a new hope for development and prosperity for the rest of the continent, especially the countries of the Sahel and those located on the Atlantic coast of Africa."

In that speech, His Majesty the King announced a multisectoral rehabilitation of the Atlantic front of the Moroccan Sahara and practical and voluntary responses by the Kingdom to accelerate the reduction of deficits and the development of the Sahel and to build an Afro-Atlantic space as a zone of stability, peace and shared prosperity.

This new dimension to be taken by the development of the southern provinces and regional integration at the level of Atlantic Africa and the Sahel within a logic of sharing and co-development, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, requires a broad mobilization of actors from different horizons and regions: Officials, politicians and private sector actors at the national and continental levels, as well as experts and international cooperation and financing institutions.
