During these talks, which were attended by Moulay Ahmed Mghizlat, CORCAS member, Khalihenna Ould Errachid discussed with his hosts the latest developments in the Sahara issue.
After presenting the history of the conflict in the context of the Cold War, CORCAS cheif highlighted the relevance of the Moroccan solution for the settlement of this conflict, in this case the project granting autonomy to the Moroccan Sahara region, whose text was formulated by Sahrawis, represented by the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, then presented by the Kingdom to the United Nations in 2007, as a courageous and fair initiative to break the stalemate that the situation knew.
This initiative is currently the subject of almost unanimous support from the international community, with a veritable tidal wave of favorable positions from UN member countries over the past two years.
It is therefore the only basis for a solution to the artificial conflict over the Moroccan Sahara.
The Venezuelan parliamentary delegation that will tour the southern provinces during its stay in the Kingdom, consists of Timoteo De Jesus Zambrano Guedez President of the Committee on Foreign Policy, Sovereignty and Integration, Jose Gregorio Correa, member of this Committee and Oscar Ronderos Rangel member of the Committee on Energy and Oil in the Venezuelan National Assembly.
