The settlement of the Sahara issue will serve the interests of all the countries and peoples of the region, US ambassador to Morocco Samuel Kaplan said.

 In an interview on Wednesday with TV channel "Al Hurra", Kaplan said that his country hopes the Sahara issue be resolved under the aegis of the UN, underlining that the US aspire to play a role in the talks between the parties to the conflict.

    The American diplomat termed as "excellent" the diversified cooperation with the Kingdom of Morocco, "a strategic ally" of the US, adding that the two countries endeavor to further promote these long-standing bilateral ties.
