 Malawi Supports Efforts Made Since 2007 for Political Solution to Sahara Issue  5/8/2017
Malawi has withdrawn its recognition of "SADR," Foreign Minister of Malawi, Francis Kasaila, said Friday in Rabat.

"The Republic of Malawi has decided to withdraw its recognition of SADR, which it recognized onMarch 6, 2014, to maintain a neutral position vis-à-vis the regional Sahara conflict," Kasaila said in a briefing following a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita.

The European Union (EU) welcomed the adoption by the UN Security Council of Resolution 2351 on the Sahara issue, EU spokesman said on Saturday.
  


 Washington Praises Serious, Credible and Realistic Moroccan Autonomy Plan in the Sahara  5/4/2017
In her speech following the unanimous adoption of Resolution 2351 extending the Minurso mandate for one year until April 30, 2018, the US diplomat stressed that Washington continues to consider "autonomy plan as being serious, credible and realistic, and represents a potential approach to satisfy the people's aspirations in the Sahara to manage their own affairs in peace and dignity".

France welcomed on Tuesday the unanimous adoption on April 28 by the UN Security Council of Resolution 2351 renewing for one year the mandate of MINURSO.
