 HRC: Group of 40 Countries Reaffirms Support for Morocco’s “Full and Complete Sovereignty” over Southern Provinces  3/3/2026
A group of 40 countries reaffirmed their support on Monday for the “full and complete sovereignty” of the Kingdom of Morocco over its southern provinces, emphasizing that the Sahara issue is a political dispute under the purview of the UN Security Council. They also called for a solution based on the Moroccan autonomy initiative.
  


 Belgium Reiterates Its Support for Autonomy Under Moroccan Sovereignty Intends to Act Accordingly on Diplomatic & Economic Levels  3/3/2026
The Kingdom of Belgium reaffirmed on Monday its clear and consistent support for the Autonomy Initiative under Moroccan sovereignty, considering it "the most adequate, serious, credible, and realistic basis" for achieving a fair, lasting, and mutually acceptable political solution to the regional dispute over the Sahara.

The Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs, represented by its members Saadani Maouelainine and Moulay Ahmed Mghizlat, is participating as part of the official delegation of the Kingdom of Morocco in the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, which began on Monday, February 23, and will continue until March 31, 2026, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
